Former LSU and current Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette went down with an injury to his right ankle in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

It looked ugly, and it appeared that Fournette had suffered a significant injury. Some speculated that he had injured his right foot, while others thought it may have been a hyperextension.

As it turned out, thankfully, everyone was wrong.

A few minutes after the injury, the Jaguars announced that Fournette was cleared to return to the game — indicating that the injury wasn’t as bad as it first appeared.

That was great news, because this didn’t look good at first:

Fournette has been a stud running back in the NFL this season.

In fact, on Sunday against the Rams, he scored a touchdown in his sixth straight game. He joined Robert Edwards (1998) as the only rookies to score a TD in each of their team’s first six games of a season, according to a tweet from ESPN Stats & Info.

The Rams were leading the Jags 27-17 late in the fourth quarter, at the time of this post. Fournette had 130 rushing yards on 21 carries, along with the TD.
