LSU released a new alternate uniform for this Saturday’s game against Mississippi State. And for the reveal, the Tigers had to bring in an all-time great.

On Friday, LSU released a behind-the-scenes clip from the production of its reveal video for the uniforms. It turns out that former Tigers running back Jacob Hester was the model for the uniform at the release.

Hester played at LSU from 2004-07. In his senior season, he rushed for 1,103 yards and 12 touchdowns, helping the Tigers win the SEC championship and the national title.

Hester went on to play five seasons in the NFL — four with the Chargers and one with the Broncos.

LSU’s new alternate uniforms are certainly slick, as the Tigers are going with an all-white uniform combination along with purple helmets.

They’ll try to win in their first game in the new uniforms when they host Mississippi State on Saturday. The Tigers and Bulldogs are set to kick off at 7 p.m. ET.
