The LSU Tigers trailed early in Monday night’s title game, but then the offense came alive. They put up 269 yards of total offense in the second quarter alone.

Now, they lead Clemson 28-17 at halftime, thanks to some great throws by Joe Burrow and great catches by Ja’Marr Chase and others.

At halftime, coach Ed Orgeron said there’s a lot of work left to be done if LSU wants to hoist the title trophy:

“Great game. We had some bad field position at the beginning, but then we started clicking on offense, started figuring out what they were going to do, started moving the football,” he said. “Got some critical stops with our defense. This is a heck of a football game. We get the ball in the second half. We’ve got to move the ball down the field and score and then we’ve got to stop them. We’ve got to play for 60 minutes. We knew we’d have to do that in the title game.”

Then, of course, he added “Go Tigers!” at the end.

Will LSU hold on? We’ll find out soon.
