LSU is one of four remaining undefeated teams in the SEC.

After struggling early with LA Tech on Saturday, the Tigers had a big second half that helped put away the Bulldogs, 38-21. The Tigers will now turn their attention to their second SEC opponent, Ole Miss.

On Wednesday, coach Ed Orgeron joined the SEC Coaches Teleconference to preview his matchup with the Rebels.

Here’s what he said:

  • Getting ready for a tough battle. We know Ole Miss is explosive on offense. We’re going to get their best shot.

Update on OL status, Adrian Magee, Saahdiq Charles:

  • Still questionable. nothing has changed, I’ll know more about both of those guys later in the week.

What the Magnolia Bowl means to LSU-Ole Miss?

  • Great pride, great tradition, the great Halloween Run by Billy Cannon, Archie Manning. You have to throw out the records in this one… This is a big football game.

Why is LSU off to such a strong start?

  • We play well as a team. character, competitiveness, we aren’t always pretty but we play together.

On key matchups against Ole Miss:

  • Our ability to cover their WRs: AJ Brown, DK Metcalf are some of the best in the conference… We have to pressure Ta’amu.

On that status of his OL:

  • It’s questionable, we are very thin there, playing some true freshman some JUCO transfers.

Speak on “Tell the Truth Monday” for the DBs this week:

  • It was quiet in the room on Monday… There was time where the QB had four seconds to throw the ball, we only had two sacks in the game (on 52 pass attempts)… They know it, they see it on tape, we have to get it done.

On playing at a Division 2 school, does that help you coming up?

  • I can only speak for me but I was very fortunate to work as a GA at Arkansas, at Miami, I learned some valuable lessons from those coaches. You have to work your way up, you learn the weight room, the coaching, the recruiting. Working from the ground up, you have to know all the areas. I think it’s a big advantage.
