On June 5, 3-star 2018 CB Jaylon Reed decommitted from Tennessee. He then pledged his allegiance to Mississippi State on July 21.

However, now he’s looking for a new school once again, as he decommitted from the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.

Reed, a Mississippi native, announced his decision to reopen his recruitment on Twitter on Saturday afternoon:

According to the 247Sports composite, Reed is the No. 83 cornerback in the class of 2018 and the No. 20 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.

While, on the surface, this may just seem like a young athlete unable to make up his mind, there is actually an interesting connection here.

When Reed decommitted from Tennessee, Bob Shoop was the defensive coordinator. Now, of course, Shoop was just hired to coach Mississippi State’s defense as a part of new coach Joe Moorhead’s staff.

Is that the reason Reed decommitted? That’s unclear at this time, but it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up next.
