Can Mississippi State challenge Alabama in the SEC West? Paul Finebaum thinks so
The Mississippi State Bulldogs have one of the biggest Week 3 matchups in the SEC, hosting the LSU Tigers at Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs haven’t defeated the Tigers in Starkville since 1999, but that could change for coach Dan Mullen’s squad this year.
Should Mississippi State emerge victorious from Saturday night’s game, SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum thinks the Bulldogs could make some noise in the SEC West:
“I think @HailStateFB has a really good chance tonight to make a claim for contending with Alabama in the SEC West.”

It’s never easy playing in the SEC West, and the Bulldogs will have to prove they deserve to be considered on the same level as Alabama, but they’ll get their chance to do just that.
First Mississippi State has to take care of business against LSU and some other SEC games, but they host the Crimson Tide on Saturday, Nov. 11. We’ll have to wait and see if they can prove Finebaum right.
