After second-string QB Kellen Moore went down with an injury in Dallas Cowboys training camp last week, rookie Dak Prescott of Mississippi State took over the No. 2 QB spot on the depth chart.

All the former Bulldog has done since then is impress. Taking some reps with the starters on Tuesday, Prescott continued making a name for himself.

According to DallasCowboys.com writer Brian Broaddus, Prescott looked very comfortable in high-pressure situations on Tuesday:

I thought this was the best practice that Dak Prescott has had since we arrived in California. His command of the two-minute drill was outstanding. It reminded me of his days at Mississippi State. He was quick with decisions and accurate with his passes.

Broaddus noted that the offensive line did well to protect Prescott on Tuesday, but the rookie quarterback still looked confident and accurate, firing passes to Cole Beasley, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten.

Playing with the first team as starter Tony Romo rested, Prescott completed 13 of 16 passes (and 5 of 6 with a spike to stop the clock in the two-minute drill).

Making sure Prescott is comfortable with the Cowboys’ top receivers is important considering how much time starter Romo missed in 2015.

Prescott could be one hard tackle away from taking snaps for Dallas this season.
