Dak Prescott was a fourth-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in last year’s NFL Draft.

With Tony Romo firmly entrenched as the starter, no one expected the former Mississippi State Bulldog star to have any role in 2016.

Well…one’s misfortune is another man’s gold.

A Romo injury opened the door for Prescott to play extensively in the preseason. He starred for the Cowboys — snagging a starting spot and galvanizing the offense in the process.

On the year, Prescott has led the Cowboys to a 3-1 record. He’s thrown for 1,012 yards and three touchdowns. Perhaps the most impressive stat is that Prescott has yet to toss an interception.

When looking at this historically, Prescott is in rarified air with Warren Moon and Tom Brady. While no one’s proclaiming Prescott is a sure-fire bet to reach the Hall of Fame, the Cowboys have to be elated with his play thus far.
