Kirk Herbstreit tweets well wishes to Jeffery Simmons after Mississippi State star tears ACL
On Tuesday, first-round NFL Draft prospect Jeffery Simmons announced he suffered a torn ACL while preparing for the NFL Combine.
That puts a damper on the next few months for the former Mississippi State star, as his first-round status is now seriously in jeopardy.
After Simmons tweeted the news of his injury, ESPN broadcaster Kirk Herbstreit tweeted his well wishes to the ex-Bulldog:
One of the ELITE players in this draft. Hang in there big fella. Know you’re down right now, but get after that recovery and you’ll be back stronger and quicker than ever. Not just about the 2019 season about a dominant career! Good luck! https://t.co/RutVjqjH4R

There’s still a chance a team could take a chance on Simmons in Round 1, but it’ll be tough, as he won’t get to impress scouts at the Combine.
The next few months will be interesting for Simmons, and we’ll see where he ends up when April rolls around.
