Mississippi State opens camp this weekend, the first under new head football coach Joe Moorhead, and the Bulldogs are expected to do big things in 2018; as evident of their initial ranking of 18 in the coaches preseason poll.

Moorhead spent the last two years as offensive coordinator at Penn State, where the Nittany Lions enjoyed massive success on the offensive side of the ball. Those in Starkville are waiting to see the new Bulldog offense when Mississippi State opens the 2018 season on Sept. 1 against Stephen F. Austin.

One person that has pulled for Joe Moorhead since day one is his former boss – James Franklin. Franklin, who coached at Vanderbilt before taking over at Penn State in 2014 has become revered as one of the better football coaches in the country and a pretty darn good fella too.

As the Bulldogs and Nittany Lions prepare to go to camp, Franklin took the time to send his former offensive coordinator well wishes as Moorhead displayed on his Twitter feed.

While it is just a simple gift basket, it shows you the mutual respect between Franklin and Moorhead. If both teams have the season many expect, you could see these two potentially meet in a big-time bowl game this winter.
