Having a big win over an SEC team has lasting impacts, and Saturday’s 37-7 win over LSU may have just helped Mississippi State land a big-time recruit on Wednesday.

Diwun Black, a 4-star athlete from Mississippi, is the newest member of the Bulldogs’ 2019 class.

Black, who had offers from USC, Ole Miss and Tennessee, announced his decision to commit to Mississippi State on Twitter:

According to the 247Sports composite, Black is the No. 12 athlete in the class of 2019 and the No. 7 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.

With Black on board, the Bulldogs now have four commits in their 2019 class. It currently ranks No. 4 in the SEC and No. 9 in the country.
