Mississippi State lands commitment from transferring Michigan defensive back
Mississippi State is looking to improve on last year’s 7-6 record, and it is making some big additions via the transfer portal.
On Monday night, the Bulldogs scored a commitment from a former 4-star defensive back who transferred from Michigan this offseason.
As you can see below, Jordan Morant, a native of New Jersey, announced via Twitter that he was heading to Starkville for the 2022 season:

Morant didn’t see any game action as a freshman in 2020. In 2021, he appeared in 8 games for the Wolverines, mostly on special teams. He recorded 1 tackle.
He will try to work his way into a bigger role when he joins the Mississippi State squad for the start of fall camp.
A 4 star DB transfers from Michigan without as much as a sniff from the dawgs from Georgia? Starting to look like a pattern here. Kirby complains about how thin we supposedly are at DB and let’s a 4 star transfer under his nose. Not even a strong sniff. Forgive me for feeling that once again I’m correct. I don’t believe we are as thin as Kirby would have you believe!!!!
Now injuries could change that quickly God forbid!!!! But as of now I think we are just fine. Young yes! But just fine other than youth!!!! I think the entire defense is better off than most believe!!!! They might regress some. Think about it. They were probably the best ever!!!!
PS. You could regress a bunch from there and still be the #1 ranked defense in the country!!! Don’t laugh yet. I mean it’s possible!!! LOL
Negan
Well, we did something that was enough to merit a 2.5 paragraph comment from Negan. That’s gotta count for something I guess.
I’m a mississippi state alum, vut i think kirby has proven that he knows what he’s doin, as a coach. You also gotta keep your opponents guessin. By sayin one thing but doin the op6. Your opponents are caught tryin to figure out which is true
