It’s official, Vic Schaefer’s squad is returning to the national championship game.

#1 seed Mississippi State defeated #1 seed Louisville 73 to 63 in overtime Friday night in Spokane’s women’s Final Four and will now advance to make a second national championship game appearance in as many seasons. Last season, the Lady Bulldogs lost to South Carolina in the national championship game but now have a chance at redemption Sunday evening in the title game.

Mississippi State was led by the incredible performance of Teaira McCowan, who played all 45 minutes of the game and scored 21 points and hauled in 25 rebounds in the game.

The Lady Bulldogs will face the winner of #1 seed UConn and #1 seed Notre Dame in the title game.
