Mike Leach has wasted no time during his brief tenure at Mississippi State loading up on quarterbacks.

He brought in Stanford QB K.J. Costello, and now he’s added another transfer to the mix, this one from Vanderbilt.

As you can see in his Instagram post, Mississippi State has added former Commodore Allan Walters to its quarterback room:

“Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps. Thank you to everyone who has supported my dream and believed in me – with my remaining 3 years of eligibility I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at Mississippi State University. Thank you to Coach Leach, Coach Mele, and the entire Mississippi State staff for the opportunity. Cannot wait to represent the great state of Mississippi down in StarkVegas, time to get to work! #hailstate 🐶🐶🐶 – S/o to my man @recruit247 for always coming through with the 🔥 edits”

Walters was a freshman at Vanderbilt last year, appearing in 3 games. He completed 2 of his 9 passes for 36 yards and 1 interception.

Walters will have 3 years of eligibility remaining. It remains to be seen if he’ll be able to play right away or if he’ll have to sit out the 2020 season.
