Did QB Nick Fitzgerald have his “Heisman Moment” in Mississippi State’s dominating performance over LSU Saturday night?

It’s probably a little too early in the season for that.

The Bulldogs opened up a can on the Tigers, dominating them 37-7. Fitzgerald completed 65 percent of his passes and scored four total touchdowns, giving Heisman voters a reason to keep an eye him the rest of 2017.

Las Vegas Westgate SuperBook came out with its latest Week 4 odds Sunday. And after beating the Tigers, Fitzgerald’s odds have escalated to 30/1, tied with Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett and Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts. Fitzgerald opened the season with 100/1 odds to win the award.

In 2017, he has already accumulated 12 touchdowns, over 500 passing yards and passed 200 rushing yards. LSU will be one of the better defenses he faces all season, but that didn’t stop him from picking the Tigers apart in Starkville.

Other SEC notables include Derrius Guice at 50/1, Nick Chubb, Jarrett Stidham and Kamryn Pettway at 80/1.
