If you missed the news, Mississippi State rising redshirt junior Leo Lewis was arrested in Starkville on Friday. The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office, located in Starkville, has charged the MSU linebacker with a single count of disorderly conduct.

News of the arrest was first reported by WTVA, the NBC/ABC-affiliated in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Lewis has made 26 appearances over the previous two seasons for Mississippi State. The only game he did not start last season was the Louisiana Tech game. Lewis made at least one tackle in every game last season.

He was also notably involved in the NCAA’s case against Ole Miss during the investigation into the recruiting violations alleged to have been committed by the school. Last season, Lewis was ordered to testify during the regular season at a hearing in Kentucky on the matter.

The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office has since issued a press release regarding the case. Per the release:

Deputies were originally dispatched to Aspen Heights Apartments for a call of a large crowd of people and cars blocking the streets. While Deputies were attempting to clear the streets, a vehicle driven by Lewis attempted to push through traffic despite Deputies directions for traffic to exit in the opposite direction. After several attempts to gain compliance, Lewis was taken into custody.
