Make room in your suitcases, Mississippi State fans, cowbells are allowed in Raymond James Stadium.

The Outback Bowl will allow cowbells in the stadium for the game against Iowa on New Year’s Day.

It’s a matchup that will take place for the first time on the gridiron as Mississippi State will play in a school-record ninth consecutive bowl appearance, and the program’s 22nd overall.

It’s the first time in the Outback Bowl for the Bulldogs, but the Hawkeyes are familiar with this setting.

Iowa was last here two years ago, and has been in the Outback Bowl five times since 2003. The Hawkeyes lost the last two meetings to Florida and LSU, and their last win in this bowl came against South Carolina in 2008.
