You could say Mississippi State had itself a night on Saturday.

Starkville had to have been “lit,” as the kids say, after the Bulldogs walloped LSU 37-7.

Mississippi State controlled the game from the second quarter forward, making it look easy while racking up 465 yards of offense on a talented LSU defense. State rushed for 285 of those yards, which was the most the Tigers have given up on the ground in two years.

Perhaps most impressive was new defensive coordinator Todd Grantham and the Bulldogs defense, which held a supposedly-improved LSU offense to just 270 total yards. The Tigers were 3-of-13 on third down.

State’s official football Twitter account issued these awesome highlights from the game on Sunday morning.
