Well, that didn’t take long.

Mississippi State used both run and pass on its opening drive to take the 7-0 lead on Louisiana. Most importantly, quarterback Tommy Stevens threw his first touchdown pass. Stevens has 36 passing yards and 12 rushing yards on the first drive.

Stevens hit Osirus Mitchell for the 31-yard touchdown pass.

That opening drive has to excite Mississippi State fans.

The Bulldogs lead the Ragin’ Cajuns 7-0 early in the first quarter.
