Will Rogers keeps promise with Lane Kiffin's son, Knox, after Egg Bowl
Will Rogers kept his promise with Knox, Lane Kiffin’s son, after the Egg Bowl.
Knox earlier in the week asked Rogers for his towel after the game, and Rogers replied, “I got you bro.” They met on the field after the game and exchanged the towel.
Rogers had a big game in the 24-22 win over Ole Miss. He was 27-for-39 passing for 239 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The Bulldogs also stopped a potential game-tying 2-point conversion with 1:25 remaining to preserve a narrow victory, and their first win in the Egg Bowl in 3 years.
State rallied from a 16-7 deficit to score 10 points in the fourth quarter as the game also had its usual share of white-knuckle events, including a controversial lateral and inadvertent whistle that went against Ole Miss.
