Barry Odom provides update on Mizzou RB Damarea Crockett's injured shoulder
Mizzou RB Damarea Crockett was one of the SEC’s biggest surprises last year as a true freshman, rushing for over 1,000 yards.
However, after a hot start to this season, Crockett has been slowed down by injuries in recent weeks.
Now, according to coach Barry Odom, the talented sophomore may be out for a while, as he had his injured shoulder scoped on Friday:
Odom: RB Damarea Crockett has shoulder scoped, will not play vs UConn, hopeful back for later this season but will prepare like he won't be

Odom says it would have been very hard for Crockett to carry the load with that injury without surgery

Senior Ish Witter and true freshman Larry Rountree III handled the load in Saturday’s big win over Idaho, but Crockett will certainly be missed down the stretch if he can’t return.
The Tigers play at UConn this weekend, but then get back into SEC play afterwards with games against Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Florida and Arkansas.
At 2-5, Mizzou’s bowl hopes aren’t dead yet, but the Tigers will need to continue to improve if they’re going to earn any more wins this year.
