The Missouri Tigers found their quarterback for 2019 when they landed Clemson transfer QB Kelly Bryant on Tuesday night.

The decision caught many by surprise, as Auburn, Arkansas, Mississippi State and North Carolina were also in the mix to land the dual-threat quarterback.

However, this week, Mizzou coach Barry Odom revealed that he knew after a home visit back on Nov. 26 that Bryant would be donning the black and gold in 2019 (via STLToday.com):

“I was confident, but you never know until you get the final word, I guess,” Odom said after Saturday’s practice, MU’s third workout to prepare for its Dec. 31 game against Oklahoma State in the Liberty Bowl. “I was excited when he told us on the 26th when we were in his house. He was mature in how he approached the process. I knew there’d be a late charge by a number of people, which there were. That’s always the case in recruiting. I felt strong that he was going to stay with us.”

With Bryant on board to replace the outgoing Drew Lock, the Tigers’ offense should continue to hum along in 2019.

It’ll be interesting to see what Bryant can do in one season at the helm of the Mizzou program.
