Mizzou QB Drew Lock led the nation with 44 touchdown passes in 2017, and returns to the Tigers with another loaded offense around him.

In a Week 1 rout of UT Martin, Lock threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns before calling it a day early in the third quarter. It wasn’t a top-flight opponent, but Lock looked good and showed signs of having another big year.

However, in ESPN’s post-Week 1 Heisman Poll, Lock isn’t getting much respect. In fact, he finds himself behind guys like Oregon QB Justin Herbert and Syracuse QB Eric Dungey.

As you can see in the poll here, Lock only got a single fifth-place vote, with Dungey receiving a third-place vote and Herbert getting a second-place nod.

Herbert only completed 10 of his 21 passes, though those passes went for 281 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions against an overmatched Portland State team. Dungey ran for 200 yards and threw for 184 while accounting for three total touchdowns against Western Michigan.

Lock is going to have to put up some big numbers against Wyoming on Saturday to start earning the respect he deserves from voters.
