Missouri’s season won’t be over after Saturday’s game at Mississippi State.

On Tuesday, Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz confirmed during his weekly press conference that Mizzou will be accepting a bowl invitation this season. Some teams may opt to not play in a bowl to avoid additional travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but that won’t be the case for the Tigers.

Drinkwitz said he met with his team about whether or not they wanted to play in a bowl.

“It wasn’t really a discussion. We’re going bowling,” Drinkwitz told the media. “We’re football players, and if you get another opportunity to play the game of football, we’re absolutely going to take advantage of it.”

It’s unknown which bowl Missouri will end up playing in (or get invited to), but it’s been having a solid season. The Tigers are 5-4, and after losing their first two games, they won five of their next six. That run came to an end this past Saturday, though, when they lost to Georgia.

Mizzou didn’t make a bowl in 2019 after going 6-6. Its last bowl appearance came at the end of the 2018 season when it lost in the Liberty Bowl. The Tigers’ last bowl victory came at the end of the 2014 season, when they won the Citrus Bowl.

Missouri and Mississippi State are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday on SEC Network Alternate.
