Marcus Scott II is headed out west.

Scott will transfer to Cal, he announced on Thursday afternoon. The decision comes after he spent just 1 season with the Tigers.

Here’s Scott’s announcement:

Scott was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2022. He was the No. 40 cornerback in the country for that cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He was the second-highest ranked defensive back in Mizzou’s 2022 class.

However, he took a medical redshirt during his true freshman season with the Tigers and did not appear in any games. Scott is originally from Conroe, Texas.

Missouri could look to replace Scott in the portal this summer. The Tigers have picked up 6 transfers so far this offseason, although none play cornerback. Seniors Kris Abrams-Draine and Ennis Rakestraw Jr. are expected to start at cornerback for the Tigers in 2023.

Scott will have 4 years of eligibility at Cal.
