Missouri QB Connor Bazelak suffered a serious knee injury during the Arkansas game, and the school on Monday confirmed the extent of the injury.

Dave Matter of the Post-Dispatch said the freshman tore his right ACL, and will have surgery next week. Bazelak was 7-for-9 passing at Arkansas in the 24-14 win, for 80 yards. Since Bazelak played only against Southeast Missouri, Georgia and Arkansas, he has preserved a year of eligibility.

Bazelak started for an injured Kelly Bryant, who who was out because of knee and hamstring injuries.

Bazelak went down with a leg injury in the second quarter after he scrambled to the right side on third down. He awkwardly stopped in front of an Arkansas defender and was swallowed by three players. Bazelak, who was on the Missouri sideline at the time he went down, immediately rolled over.

Overall this season, he was 15-for-21 passing for 144 yards.

Bazelak was a 3-star recruit by 247Sports from Dayton, Ohio. He chose Mizzou over offers from Georgia, Kentucky, NC State, Pitt, Purdue and Vanderbilt.
