Two Missouri recruits have backed off their commitments to the school on Tuesday.

The latest is Darius Anderson, a 3-star running back from George Ranch High School (Rosenberg, Texas), who announced on Twitter that he is no longer committed to Missouri after being a verbal commit since August.

“I would like to thank Coach (Gary) Pinkel and the entire University of Missouri coaching staff for the opportunity to play at one of the best schools in the SEC. After much consideration, my family and I have decided to rescind my verbal commitment to Mizzou and open up my recruitment,” Anderson wrote on Twitter. “I would like to extend my sincerest thanks and appreciation to the fans and the Mizzou family for your love and support. Be blessed.”

Anderson is rated as the nation’s No. 33 running back and is the state of Texas’ No. 88 overall prospect, according to 247Sports. He led his team to a state championship while rushing for 2,274 yards and scored 30 touchdowns in his senior year.

Earlier on Tuesday, the school also saw 3-star defensive end Tyreic Martin announce via Twitter that he was de-committing from Missouri as well. He gave some insight as to why he was doing so.

“I would like to first Thank the Entire University of Missouri for still wanting me to play football for (their) program. But I’m officially de-committing from the University of Missouri. has had several coaching changes in the past few months,” Martin wrote. “Although all of the new coaches I have met seem to be great; however, I feel like I need to take more time and my official visits to see if Missouri is the place I want to play football while continuing my education. Missouri is still my No. 1 pick right now.”

Mizzou may look to sway Martin back to Columbia as he’s scheduled for an official visit to the school on Jan. 22 unless he modifies those plans.

Martin has also gotten offers from a pair of other SEC schools including Kentucky and South Carolina, which offered Martin a scholarship last Thursday.
