Despite recent concerns over Michael Porter Jr.’s medical evaluations (insert Missouri fans’ collective eye roll here), the star Mizzou forward was still expected to be an early lottery pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

That’s not exactly what happened on Thursday night in Brooklyn, as he fell further than anticipated. Porter ended up going to the Denver Nuggets with the No. 14 overall pick in the draft.

So, while MPJ is still going to a lottery team, he’s going to a Denver squad that only missed out on the postseason by one game last season.

The Nuggets have a talented core of C Nikola Jokic, PF Paul Millsap, PG Jamal Murray, SG Gary Harris and others, so Porter adds more firepower to the already potent offense.

Porter only appeared in three games for the Tigers during the 2017-18 season after suffering a back injury two minutes into his debut. He scored a grand total of 30 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in his limited action.
