Missouri had a less than ideal season.

The Tigers offense was nearly nonexistent while the defense kept them in games all year.

Let’s take a look at the top 5 defining moments for 2015:

1. The suspension of Maty Mauk: The junior struggled in 2014, but showed he was capable of moving the offense. He had 4,373 yards, 42 touchdowns and just 19 interceptions in his career at Mizzou. But Mauk couldn’t stay out of trouble, and the Tigers offense suffered mightily. Mizzou may have not won the SEC East, but it may have been stronger with Mauk under center in the last eight games.

2. The emergence of DE Charles Harris: Kentrell Brothers and Michael Scherer were familiar names around the SEC. But Harris jumped onto the scene and finished the year with 55 tackles and seven sacks. Harris should be one of the top defenders in the country in 2016.

3. The football team threatening not to play:  This political football put another sour note on a miserable season. Gary Pinkel may never come out and say it, but this incident may have influenced the timing of his retirement.

4. The BYU victory: It may seem trivial, but the Tigers’ late-season win over a solid BYU  team was still meaningful. It was another huge performance for the Missouri defense and it was the only Tigers win in their last seven games.

5. The hiring of Barry Odom: Did you see the players’ reaction when Odom was hired? They were ecstatic. Odom appears to be the right guy for the job. Now the Tigers need their  offense to turn around.
