NFL teams were tasked with cutting their training camp rosters to 80 players by Tuesday, and a former Missouri defensive tackle was one of the players released.

The Carolina Panthers announced on Monday that they had released 3 players, including Walter Palmore. Palmore was signed by the Panthers on Wednesday.

Palmore, a native of Columbus, Ga. who originally played at Coffeyville Community College and Eastern Arizona Junior College, transferred to Mizzou ahead of the 2017 season. In 2018, his senior year, he registered 31 tackles and 4.0 tackles for a loss.

An undrafted free agent, he signed with the Houston Texans in 2019 before ultimately being waived just before the season. He would then go on to be drafted by the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL in 2020, playing in 2 games. After a stint with the Dallas Cowboys, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks in May before his release on Aug. 16, only to be signed by the Panthers 2 days later.
