The Missouri Tigers have been hot on the transfer market this week, landing former Clemson QB Kelly Bryant and ex-Arkansas WR Jonathan Nance.

They weren’t believed to be in the mix for former Miami standout WR Jeff Thomas, who was recently dismissed by Miami, but things may be changing, per a 247Sports report.

The Illinois Fighting Illini were believed to be the favorites to land Thomas, but now that might not be the case:

Meanwhile, a source around the Missouri program likes the way things are trending for Thomas, a former East St. Louis (Ill.) High standout who signed with the Hurricanes in the 2017 recruiting class as the nation’s No. 5 receiver and No. 40 prospect overall per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Thomas would need a waiver from the NCAA if he’s going to play in 2019, but it’s unclear why he would be granted one if he was dismissed from Miami.

That means he could end up at an FCS school this fall first, before then potentially transferring back into the Power 5 with a school like Illinois or Mizzou. Thomas had 35 catches for 563 yards and three touchdowns.
