Three SEC assistant coaches will have the chance to bring home a top award this season.

On Tuesday, Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, Georgia defensive coordinator/outside linebackers coach Dan Lanning and LSU passing game coordinator/wide receivers coach Joe Brady were included among the 15 semifinalists for this season’s Broyles Award.

A selection committee composed of 20 former head coaches, broadcasters and Football Writers’ Association of America representatives selected the 15 semifinalists, whittling down a list of 41 nominees. The Broyles Award has been given out to a top college football assistant coach every season since 1996.

Winners of the award from the past five seasons weren’t eligible to be nominated for this year’s honor. Last season, Alabama offensive coordinator Mike Locksley won the award.

Here’s the full list of this year’s 15 semifinalists (SEC assistants in bold):

Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele
Baylor defensive coordinator/safeties coach Phil Snow
