The Nashville Predators were on the ropes in the Stanley Cup Finals entering Saturday’s Game 3 in Nashville.

The Preds trailed the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-0 and needed a home victory to avoid falling into a 3-0 hole.

Things were looking dire, but then Alabama coach Nick Saban showed up to the game in a Predators jersey:

The rest, as they say, is history, as Nashville rolled to an easy 5-1 victory to cut the Penguins’ series lead to 2-1, with many fans crediting Saban and his championship pedigree for helping the Preds out.

Naturally, fans on Twitter couldn’t wait to have some fun with the coach’s wardrobe choice. There were those who were happy Saban decided to support the Predators and those who were simply amused by the fact that a team from Tennessee only won when a rival coach donned its jersey:

Game 4 of the series will take place on Monday night in Nashville. No word yet on whether Saban will be in attendance again.
