From 1946-2008, the Hula Bowl showcased some of the top college football seniors from around the country. However, the game hasn’t been played in more than a decade.

However, that’s about to change.

On Thursday, it was announced that the Hula Bowl is back, in conjunction with CBS Sports Network, and will return on Jan. 26, 2020. The game will feature some top college football seniors, along with players from Australia and Japan. It will air live at 10:30 p.m. ET.

“We are excited to reboot the Hula Bowl in paradise and bring back this winter classic on CBS Sports Network,” Hula Bowl executive producer Mark Dvornik said in a statement. “The Hula Bowl over the years has showcased many iconic players, including Heisman Trophy winners Steve Spurrier, Tony Dorsett, Marcus Allen, Tim Brown, Ricky Williams, Danny Wuerffel and many more.”

The Hula Bowl will be played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. The game originally started as the Hula Bowl All-Star Football Classic in 1946, but it adopted its current format in 1960.

Each of the two teams in the 2020 game will be led by a former NFL head coach. Rex Ryan will coach the Kai (Water) Team and Mike Smith will lead the Aina (Land) Team.

“The tradition of excellence in college football returns to Hawaii and we look forward to celebrating the history and traditions of this important all-star game,” Hula Bowl executive director Rich Miano said in a statement.
