Former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott took the NFL by storm last season, taking over for Tony Romo as the Dallas Cowboys’ starting quarterback and leading the team to an NFL-best 13-3 regular-season record.
He won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award for his efforts and, entering just the second year of his professional career, he’s already a household name.
At SEC Media Days on Tuesday, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen said it’s been incredible watching his former quarterback play at such a high level in the NFL:
Mullen on Prescott: Dak is on a one-name basis now in the sports world. That's pretty special.#SECMD2017

Mullen has another young quarterback, Nick Fitzgerald, who will likely be one of the SEC’s best this year. Whether Fitzgerald eventually has the same level of NFL success as Prescott remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Mullen knows how to coach talented signal-callers.
