Kansas City reportedly close to trading elite pass rusher Dee Ford to San Francisco

In what has been a wild day of transactions around the NFL, it would appear the action isn’t quite over as Kansas City is expected to trade away one of the team’s most promising defenders in outside linebacker Dee Ford.
Ford racked up 13.5 sacks last season for the Chiefs and 30.5 in his five-year career in Kansas City. The former Auburn Tiger was selected in the first round by the Chiefs in the 2014 NFL Draft.
As first reported by Albert Breer of the MMQB, Kansas City is expected to trade Ford to San Francisco for a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The deal won’t be complete until San Francisco can agree to a long-term deal with Ford, according to Breer.
In addition to Ford’s pass rushing abilities, he’s also racked up 136 career tackles in the NFL and 69 hits on opposing quarterbacks. Ford has also proven to be fairly durable during his career, missing only 13 games in five seasons of play, with 10 of those missed games all occurring during the 2017 season.
