Drew Lock explains how Mizzou’s new offense is going to help Tigers win games

The Missouri Tigers lost OC Josh Heupel this offseason, as he took the head coaching job at UCF after Scott Frost left.
They made an interesting hire in former Tennessee head coach and Dallas Cowboys WR coach Derek Dooley to replace him, and not much is known about Dooley’s offense at this point in the offseason.
However, star QB Drew Lock joined the “Golic & Wingo” show recently and said he thinks Dooley’s slower-paced offense will help the Tigers control games:

“My main goal this year is just winning games,” he said. “We’re going to manage games. We’re going to know how to win games. We’re going to find our way out of the tough games. I think this offense is going to give us a better chance to take those tough games and turn them into wins.”
Mizzou’s defense has spent more time on the field than nearly any other defense during the past couple of seasons, so controlling the ball is going to be important. However, Dooley would be wise not to limit Lock’s big-play potential, as the Tigers had one of the best deep passing games in the nation last year.
