The SEC has a ton of great running backs returning for the 2017 season and will combine that with some talented quarterbacks as well.

From reigning SEC Offensive Player of the Year Jalen Hurts to leading 2016 rusher Derrius Guice, there’s plenty of offensive firepower coming back to the conference this fall.

This week, ESPN ranked the top quarterback-running back duos and trios, and there are some outstanding ones.

The full list can be seen here, but the top five groups are listed below:

  1. QB Jalen Hurts, RB Bo Scarbrough, RB Damien Harris — Alabama
  2. QB Jacob Eason, RB Nick Chubb, RB Sony Michel — Georgia
  3. QB Jarrett Stidham, RB Kamryn Pettway, RB Kerryon Johnson — Auburn
  4. QB Drew Lock, RB Damarea Crockett, RB Ish Witter — Mizzou
  5. QB Austin Allen, RB Devwah Whaley — Arkansas

Other combos mentioned to keep an eye on were Florida RBs Lamical Perine and Jordan Scarlett, LSU QB Danny Etling and RB Derrius Guice, Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald and RB Aeris Williams, South Carolina QB Jake Bentley and RB Rico Dowdle and Texas A&M RBs Trayveon Williams and Keith Ford.

That’s 10 of the 14 SEC schools with legitimate threats at either the quarterback or running back position. Add in that Kentucky has RB Benny Snell, Vanderbilt has RB Ralph Webb, Ole Miss has QB Shea Patterson and Tennessee has RB John Kelly and it should be an exciting year for SEC offenses.
