A redshirt senior Florida specialist appears to no longer be a walk-on.
Long-snapper Jacob Tilghman announced Wednesday that he has been put on scholarship.
“Blessed to announce that Iโve earned a FULL SCHOLARSHIP for football at the University of Florida! Itโs been a long time coming but I wouldnโt change what Iโve been through for anything! Stay on your grind and youโll get what youโre working for! #BeatMiami 🐊 @GatorsFB,” he tweeted.
Tilghman, who appeared in three games last season, replaces Ryan Farr as the starting long-snapper.
Tilghman brings Florida’s scholarship count to 78 for the 2019 season, according to Thomas Goldkamp of Swamp247. Earlier this month, offensive lineman Tanner Rowell was also put on scholarship. The NCAA limit is 85 players on scholarship during the college football season.
