Former Alabama DL Marcell Dareus makes big donation to build classrooms in Haiti

Marcell Dareus recently traveled to Haiti on a humanitarian mission, and for the second year in a row, he’s doing what he can to help the country.
Dareus, a former Alabama defensive lineman who is currently a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, donated $125,000 to help build classrooms through the Hope for Haiti program.
The donation made by Dareus, whose father was a native of Haiti, will build a three-classroom school wing bearing his name at the Christ-Roi Primary School:

In a release from Hope for Haiti, Dareus said he is passionate about the cause of helping children from his father’s home country:
“I’m overwhelmed with appreciation that Hope for Haiti and the Haitian community are welcoming me back with the dedication and construction of a school wing in my name,” said Dareus. “More importantly, giving back to the Haitian children is so important to me because I see myself in them. Meeting the children last time has stuck with me and motivated me to continue to give back and do as much as I can to help them receive the best education possible.”
Per the release, Dareus’s generous donation will help pay for “school construction, teacher training, teacher salary subsidies, mobile clinics and back-to-school support for students.”
Adam is a daily fantasy sports (DFS) and sports betting expert. A 2012 graduate of the University of Missouri, Adam now covers all 16 SEC football teams. He is the director of DFS, evergreen and newsletter content across all Saturday Football brands.
