The Cleveland Cavaliers selected former Alabama PG Collin Sexton with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, and now Sexton will face the unenviable task of trying to lead the Cavs in the post-LeBron James era.

After the superstar forward left for the Los Angeles Lakers, Sexton and F Kevin Love are the two key pieces on Cleveland’s current roster, though that could change before the start of the season.

According to a report from Cleveland.com, Sexton’s deal is for four years and could be worth up to $20.2 million:

Cavaliers rookie Collin Sexton signed his first NBA contract, a four-year deal worth up to $20.2 million. …

Sexton, 19, was the eighth pick in the draft last month. Per league rules, the most he could earn this season was about $4.1 million, based on where he was selected. And that amount — $4.07 million — is what he’ll get, a source told cleveland.com. Rookie contracts are guaranteed for the first two years, with team options for the last two years.

Sexton showed he has a killer instinct during his one year at Alabama, making several incredible plays and big-time shots.

Now, he’ll be counted on to bring that skill to the next level, as the Cavaliers are going to be without one of the greatest players ever when the 2018-19 season begins.
