The SEC is represented in Forbes’ new list of “The World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities.”
Former Georgia QB Matthew Stafford carries the designation of the highest-paid former SEC athlete. He appears on the list at No. 36 overall, making $59.5 million as the quarterback of the Detroit Lions. Not a bad payday at age 30.
Stafford’s not the highest-ranking NFL player on the list, but many Georgia fans will recognize who’s ahead of him. Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan is No. 29 overall, making $67.3 million.
Two former Texas A&M players also make appearances on the list. At No. 96, Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill checks in, making $35.2 million. He edges fellow former Aggie Von Miller by $100,000 and one spot. The Denver Broncos linebacker is No. 97 overall, making $35.1 million. Both Tannehill and Miller are 29 years old.
The full list, which starts with boxer Floyd Mayweather at No. 1 making $285 million, can be viewed here.
