Georgia WR Michael Chigbu was a noticeable absence from the latter part of spring practices this year, and coach Kirby Smart said the receiver was dealing with some injury concerns.

Smart also added that Chigbu, who would have been a senior in 2018, was considering leaving the team and quitting football.

Now, it appears that was indeed what Chigbu decided to do, as he was not listed on the Bulldogs’ roster in the new Georgia 2018 football media guide.

Chigbu did not record any catches in 2017. In the two years prior to that, Chigbu amassed 13 catches for 116 yards and no touchdowns.

There was a chance he could have competed for more playing time this fall, but apparently the injuries were too much to overcome. Chigbu dealt with a shoulder injury in 2017 and a knee injury in 2016.
