The Air Force Academy north of Colorado Springs, Colorado offers some of the best landscape visuals of anywhere in college football, tucked against the Rocky Mountain front.

Now add football and F-16 jets. Not sure it gets much more American than that.

On Wednesday, a post circulating social media shows a video of an F-16 flying over an Air Force Football practice. They’re probably used to it by now, the wall of noise certainly seemed to stop a few players in their tracks, but it’s a pretty sweet viewing experience for us.

Air Force football is set to kick off Year 20 under Troy Calhoun on September 5 as the Falcons face off against Duquense. Calhoun is one of the winningest service academy coaches of all time, boasting a 139-97 record, including a pair of 10-win seasons in 2021 and 2022, as well as an 11-win season in 2019.

The Falcons compete in the Mountain West and are projected to be near the middle of the pack in 2026. New Mexico and UNLV are frontrunners to win the Mountain West as several schools left to join the reformed Pac-12.
