Nik Scalzo had a rough start to his college career when he suffered a serious knee injury during preseason camp. But the Kentucky freshman has an optimistic outlook on his future.
“Surgery was a success! I’ll be back better than ever,” Scalzo tweeted.
Scalzo suffered the torn ACL in a non-contact situation less than two weeks ago. The same knee was hurt last season in high school, which Mark Stoops called a shame because Scalzo was playing well.
In the third season of the Netflix show, “QB1: Beyond the Lights,” Scalzo is featured alongside Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler and Maryland quarterback Lance Legendre.
Scalzo is a freshman from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and was a consensus 3-star prospect, and one of the top 10 quarterbacks in Florida. He’s listed at 6 feet and 175 pounds.
