Kolbe Fields was a freshman linebacker at South Carolina in 2021, signing with the Gamecocks as part of last year’s recruiting class.

Fields played in 4 games during the 2021 season, recording 1 tackle against Florida. After the year, he decided to enter the transfer portal.

On Sunday, he officially found a new home, as the former Gamecock was announced as part of LSU’s incoming class via Twitter:

Fields was a 3-star linebacker out of Metairie, Louisiana, in the 2021 class. Per the 247Sports composite rankings, he was the No. 81 linebacker in the class and the No. 24 overall recruit from the state of Louisiana.

Now, he’s heading home to Louisiana. We’ll see what kind of role he carves out for himself on the LSU defense in 2022 and beyond.
