LISTEN: Steve Spurrier responds to rumors he may return to coaching

On Tuesday, USA TODAY handicapper and sports analyst Danny Sheridan said on The Paul Finebaum Show that he thought there was a chance Steve Spurrier could return to the sidelines as an offensive coordinator for a non-SEC team.
However, it didn’t take long for the Head Ball Coach to shoot down those rumors and say he’s perfectly happy in retirement.
On SiriusXM College Sports on Wednesday, Spurrier explained that he’s happy to be in Gainesville and doesn’t foresee a return to the coaching ranks:

“No, I doubt very seriously that would ever happen,” he said in the segment. “In fact, I just moved into a new house down here in Gainesville yesterday that my wife is thrilled about being able to design.
“I’m comfortable here in Gainesville. Very unlikely to happen.”
At 72-years-old, it seems fair to take Spurrier at his word when he says he has no plans to come back.
However, he didn’t completely rule it out, he just said it was “very unlikely to happen.”
