Echols has been committed to Tennessee for nearly a year — since July 4, 2022. He has taken visits to programs such as Florida and Miami this offseason, however.
Echols is one of the top-ranked commits in the Vols’ class. He’s the No. 105 overall player and the No. 7 athlete in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 16 player from the state of Florida.
Although he’s listed as an athlete, it appears Tennessee is planning to use Echols on the offensive side of the ball. His primary recruiters are tight ends coach Alec Abeln and offensive coordinator Joey Halzle.
Echols attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds.
