WATCH: Alabama RB Damien Harris explains why he returned for his senior season

No one would have blamed Alabama RB Damien Harris for heading to the NFL after the 2017 season. He’s already rushed for 1,000 yards in two seasons and former 5-star recruit Najee Harris is pushing for more carries in a Crimson Tide that’s seemingly always loaded with talented ball-carriers.

But, unlike teammate Bo Scarbrough, Damien Harris decided to return for the 2018 season. He has the opportunity to be a three-time 1,000-yard rusher, but at SEC Media Days, he pointed to off-the-field reasons when asked about his big decision . Harris makes it clear he sincerely enjoys living in Tuscaloosa and being part of the community. Things like fans rolling down their car windows to yell “Roll Tide!”at him on his way to class have apparently made an impression on him.
