Mac Jones has found his NFL home.

The former Alabama quarterback will play for the New England Patriots as he was selected 15th overall in the 202 NFL Draft. Jones took a bit of a slide as Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance and Justin Fields were all selected before him, but now the Jacksonville, Fla. native will head to Foxborough and join Bill Belichick.

And it’s a quarterback room that already includes a pair of former Auburn Tigers: former NFL MVP Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham. Following a disappointing 2020 season—its first without Tom Brady, who added insult to injury by winning a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers—New England will hope that Jones will help it return to its spot among the league’s elite teams. Some feel that Jones could be a Day 1 starter, so he might get an early chance to take the first steps toward becoming the Pats’ next franchise quarterback.
